Across The Country

Beyond our California-based practice, the lawyers of Overland Borenstein Scheper & Kim regularly represent individuals and corporations – including those with no California connection – in litigation, investigations and other matters pending in other jurisdictions.  To serve our clients, we have been admitted to practice pro hac vice in other state and federal district courts, and are admitted to practice before several federal Courts of Appeal and the United States Supreme Court.

Mark Overland is a member of the New York Bar and has represented defendants in complex criminal matters at the trial and appellate level in Rhode Island, Virginia and Washington D.C.  Mark Borenstein has tried numerous cases in the federal and state trial courts and has represented clients in many courts of appeal and the California and United States Supreme Courts.

In both the civil and criminal arenas, David Scheper has represented numerous clients in matters outside of California, including representation of an Alabama-based defense contractor in a False Claims Act case involving the National Missile Defense Program; representation of a Pennsylvania-based Fortune 250 managed services firm in environmental, antitrust and breach of contract disputes in Illinois, Kentucky and Mississippi; representation of a midwest bank in a RICO case arising in Nevada; and representation of senior executives from  the Philippines, Texas and California in antitrust investigations arising in Hawaii, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.  His current engagements include representation of an individual in a criminal tax investigation arising in Oregon, and representation of a defendant in the KPMG tax shelter criminal case pending as United States v. Stein, et al., in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
