Kelley Poleynard has extensive experience in a broad range of complex commercial litigation in state and federal trial courts and appellate courts.  Among other things, she has successfully defended commercial developers in multiple jury and bench trials, including a statutory waste action, an action for declaratory and injunctive relief against a lender, and a lender liability action.  Ms. Poleynard has also obtained relief for a client in a complex federal fraud action, defended a national grocery chain in a breach of contract action, and counseled employers and represented them in several wrongful termination and sexual harassment actions.  She has handled a variety of appellate proceedings, including an arbitration issue of first impression.

Ms. Poleynard received her B.A. in History from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1992, and her J.D. from the University of Southern California Law Center in 1997, where she was elected to Order of the Coif and was a member of the Southern California Law Review.  She was also a production editor for the Southern California Review of Law and Women's Studies.  Following law school, Ms. Poleynard served as a law clerk for the Honorable Audrey B. Collins in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.  Thereafter, Ms. Poleynard was an associate at the Los Angeles law firms of Tuttle & Taylor and Overland & Borenstein.

In addition to private practice, since the fall of 2004, Ms. Poleynard has been teaching legal writing at Whittier Law School, where she is now an Assistant Professor of Legal Writing.
